What the headline price is
One figure per photographer website: the cheapest package that counts as a full day and is not flagged as including an album, a second photographer or video. A package counts as a full day when stated hours are 7 or more, or, when hours were not verified, when the page calls it a full day. The UK median of those prices is £1,500 (n=2,057; middle half £1,195 to £1,900; surveyed 4 October 2026). The longer explanation is wedding photography packages and the methodology.
What is often missing from the description
69.9% of these headline packages do not say whether an album is included (n=1,438 of 2,057). 70.2% do not say whether a second photographer is included (n=1,444). Because packages flagged as including an album are kept out of the headline set, the median is not a measure of how often an album is sold.
Add-ons with their own medians
Album £350 (n=734). Second photographer £370 (n=776). Engagement shoot £275 (n=764). Extra hour £175 (n=681). A full-day median of £1,500 plus an album median of £350 is £1,850. That is the sum of two medians, not a package the survey sold as one price.
How to read a quote against this
Ask whether the price is for digital files only, how many hours it covers, and whether an album, a second photographer or video is included or extra.
